This is a reworked version of an earlier painting I wasn't very happy with. It marks the first finished work in my series on the theme of "Compassion" which explore our relationship with the unseen living world that surrounds us and supports us.
I can see I'm going to spend some time in your gallery. It isn't just the excellence of your technique- you haven't erased yourself by over finishing your paintings into sterility- but the depth and power of your vision is impressive. I was intriged by the position of the figure's left hand, almost a ritualized response to the glowing (symbol? entity?) before it. One wonders what the original vison might have been, beyond this frozen moment in time.
